Diet & Activity Analysis
"I'm cutting calories but not losing weight. I don't understand!"
"I'm going to the gym a couple of times a week but my weight's not going down!"
"I'm trying to make the effort to be more active, but I just feel too tired most of the time"
"I'm trying to build up some extra muscle to help improve in sports but I'm not making much progress....yet I'm eating loads of extra protein!"
Although many people believe they eat a healthy, balanced diet, this is, more often than not, misguided.
Most people wanting to lose weight are unaware that they may be underestimating their calorie intake and overestimating their calorie expenditure through activity and exercise.
To be sure that weight-loss targets are realistic and achieveable, a thorough diet and activity analysis is essential.
This can be done using a nutrition software programme that produces a report showing the average daily deficit and any nutritional deficiencies or imbalances.
Diet and calorie intake can be assessed by recording at least a full week's food. The analysis also assesses the balance of carbohydrate, protein, fat, vitamins and minerals. The activity log estimates actual calorie expenditure throughout each day. The report will then show if the difference between 'calories in' and 'calories out' is too little or too much.
The results are presented in a useful reference format, with advice to help plan a new healthy living programme. This is by far the most cost effective long term strategy to ensure results.
